And one of the most important stats that you, an F&B operator need to know is the online statistics of your targeted audience. In the segment below, we have prepared weekly intent (searches) for online food delivery in Singapore and tracked across the three main food delivery service providers: Grab Food, Food Panda and Deliveroo.
This gives you a glimpse into the demand for the F&B sector. And since online food delivery is a large part of the food business, this is a good barometer on what is the overall demand (the type of food customers are looking for in Singapore).
In the market outlook session we did for Temasek Polytechnic, the September figure was over $200 Million dollars in September 2021. At the time of writing this article, we have the stats for October 2021, the online food delivery sales in Singapore was $253 million. Close to 40% of Singapore food and beverage services sales is food delivery.
It is important to note that, dine has resumed almost to normal (5 pax) and most people are dining out, and yet the online food delivery sales grow. This highlights the shift in consumption and a change in consumer behaviour.
