Ever had a hot day at Bishan Park and you need a place to cool down and unwind from the outdoor activities with your kids? Grub is just about the perfect place for that.
There are two sides to Bishan Park. One section is where the “bubble playground” with sand play and McDonalds and Canopy etc. are, and the other is where the water playground and the pond are. Grub is located in the latter section. If you are driving to Grub, I will recommend that you park at the car park along Sin Ming Avenue instead of the car park where you turn in from Ang Mo Kio Avenue 1’s car park, as it’s a much shorter walk to the bistro.
With a view of lush greeneries surrounding us, Grub is easily one of my favourite lunch places. It offers both indoor and alfresco dining options. I enjoy sitting outside in the fresh air, reading a good book and sipping a cold drink, whiling the afternoon away. Do note they close their indoor seating area at 3pm once the kitchen is closed but you can still enjoy your drinks at the chairs and tables provided outside.
On this visit, I had the refreshing Yuzu Mint Soda ($4.50) and it tasted good with enough mint flavours from the leaves in the drink. My kid had the iced lemon tea ($3) and she slurped it all up.
The kitchen was almost closing when we reached and the weather was also too warm for us to try the hot appetizers, so I will write more about their food on my next visit.
