How much does it cost to rent a coffee machine?

There are many options to rent/lease a coffee machine in Singapore. The rental cost ranges from as low at $0 per month to $300 per month depending on the type of coffee machines, service support and products rendered.

The  answers to the question: How much does it cost to rent a coffee machine depends on:

  • The use of the machine, it is for offices or F&B  (restaurants, cafes etc) , with the latter usually requiring better machines thus more expensive.
  • The number of serves (dispensing), the higher the number, the higher the rental for the coffee machine.
  • The concentration of coffee suppliers, having more suppliers meant more competition, usually leading to freemium model such as free on loan coffee machine (i.e. you do not need to pay rental for the coffee machine).

The type of machines also changes the rental required:

Table top Vending Machine: $0 (usually offers as a free on loan)

Single Group Semi Automatic: $50 to $100

Double Group Fully Automatic: $150 to $300

Fully Automatic Drinks Station: $350 and more

Office Coffee Machine rental charges

On average, a small office with less than 30 pax may opt for a smaller capacity coffee machine below $150 per month. This will average out to $7.50 per day based on 20 working days per month. The type of coffee machine suitable for small offices are usually compact due to the constraint in space and provide basic beverages like Espresso, Coffee and sometimes Latte, Cappuccino if it comes with a milk system.

For bigger offices, more than 50 pax and have bigger space such as staff pantry, the range of available coffee machines can be quite extensive. The rental cost of such coffee machines range from $180 - $300 depending on the

  • coffee machines model
  • number of beverages
  • the capacity of coffee machines
  • size of the coffee machines
  • speed of the coffee brewing

Example of a coffee machine for office

Most of the bean to cup fully automatic coffee machines would be equipped with a touch screen, milk fridge and powder option. These features are pretty common for modern fully automatic coffee machines. In some cases, the rental cost may be further negotiated if customers can commit to contact agreement or consumption of consumable products such as coffee beans and powder mixes.

Some of the coffee machine rental suppliers would offer one-stop solution service to their high-end rental customers. The supplier would send freshly roasted beans, milk, sugar and powder mix on a regular basis to entice their customers. Regular preventive maintenance will also be rendered to ensure that customers enjoy good brewed coffee on a daily basis.

Depending on the type of food and beverage businesses you are running, renting a coffee machine can greatly lowers the startup cost.

A typical coffee machine range from $10 000 to $30 000, and if you can rent it for a couple of hundreds per month, it saves you the initial expenses.

Not all businesses are suited for this rental arrangement. This is because the supplier of the coffee machines usually requires the F&B businesses to buy their coffee beans as well. Check out the cafe setup cost calculator to evaluate how much you can save without buying a coffee machine.
