Maple and Market -an unassuming café, this café might not have captured much attention until well received reviews from various bloggers. I just had to go and taste it for myself.

Maple and Market is located at the corner of a HDB block and it’s not noticeable from the main road. At the moment, the plot of land in front of the cafe is undergoing construction so there won’t be much view.  It’s a pity they are closing down this little enclave on 30th March 2015. I loved the  country cottage interior which gives me a homely feel. This quiet spot is a perfect break to unwind from the hustle and bustle of town. 

Lovely Illustrations of cakes’ recipes lined the walls and unique nics nacs for sale are displayed around the shop. They sell some very Singaporean stuff too. I just find the prices a bit expensive for the quality of some of the products.

I had a Chai Latte to go along with the Gula Melaka Cake ($6). It’s been quite some time where I had both good cake and drink in a café concurrently. They go really well together. The Chai Latte might be a bit milky for some but I like it this way. The cake’s texture was good and moist enough and it had enough flavour without overpowering sweetness.

It’s a pity they are closing down this little enclave on 30th March 2015. They also conduct classes in their store. If you are keen to pick up some skills from them, do hurry and check out their Facebook page.
