Starting a coffee shop?: Free Cafe Setup cost Calculator
Plain Vanilla Bakery is cosy, warm and an almost perfect place to chill out on a lazy afternoon. I love to pop in for a cup of coffee and a cupcake after shopping at Foodie Market Place which is nearby. Tiong Bahru is a charming and quaint estate and Plain Vanilla Bakery is one of its gems.
This café is designed with plenty of natural daylight coming in and it brightens up the whole place. The interior has a homely feel and its setting looks like a café in New York.
Everything looked tempting here and yes, it’s true. I had difficulty picking out what to order as I want to try quite a few items but I was on my own. I ordered a chocolate hazelnut cupcake and a latte and decided to pack some items home later.
This cake was fabulous. It was rich and moist. I fell in love with its dark chocolaty flavor instantly. I couldn’t stop eating after the first bite. It was that addictive. Ditto for the cupcakes, which was one of the better cupcakes I had tried.
I was quite surprised when I got my latte as it’s served in a paper cup. Sad to say, it kind of turned me off as I am used to having my hot drinks served in a nice coffee cup when I visit cafes. There was no latte art but the aroma of the coffee was quite strong. Overall, it’s a decent latte.
