Sitting directly opposite the National Library (Bugis), it is not really hard to locate Rabbit Owl Depot. The café gives a homely and cosy ambience with its warm lighting and soft music. The cute decorations (owls, pictures frames, embellished glass bottles,rabbits) displayed around the shop will appeal to the younger crowd of shoppers and it also brightens up the whole atmosphere. 

   

Looking through at the dessert on offer, I was “wow-ed” by the many special ice-cream flavours they have (especially since they just occupy a pretty small unit). However, the sea salt caramel dark chocolate tart ($6.50) caught my eye instead so I decided to have it for my tea break.

It took quite some time for the tart to be served. But I was really pleased upon seeing the tart. It's totally food-art! Check out my picture! The tart was beautifully decorated with strawberries and chocolate sauce. I can totally feel the effort that went into the presentation of my tart. Yes, I am a sucker for pretty dessert presentation. It just enhances my experience of café dining. 

As I was cutting the tart, it got slightly messy as the chocolate in the tart oozed out. This sea salt caramel dark chocolate tart is definitely perfect for chocolate lovers. Together with soft buttery crust, I will just say it is heavenly. However, it was too rich for me to polish it off on my own so I will recommend sharing it with a friend.

Usually, I will just brush off cafes near the Bugis malls as I haven’t found any worth re-visiting but Rabbit Owl Depot definitely changed my opinion. I will return to try out the waffles and ice-cream.
