Pinterest is the new social media darling. Word has it that it's growth rate is even faster than Facebook or twitter.
And now, data analytic site Shareholic highlighted that Pinterest is referring more traffic than Twitter for the month of February.
That is quite a feat when you know that Pinterest has only 11.7 million users while Twitter has more than 100 million users.
Shareholic data should be quite accurate given that their widgets are used by more than 200 000 online publishers.
So, have you or are you planning to use Pinterest for your business? If you are in F&B retail business, you should.
Pinterest are frequented by mostly ladies that are likely to gravitate to attractive images. And, currently some of the websites and blogs that does extremely well are Home, Style, decor, arts and food.
F&B is about food and beverages, and we would be able to supply large number of images with regards to food or beverages.
Thus, personally I feel Pinterest and F&B business is a direct match.
My $0.02F&B business have been taking food photography and doing food styling for so many years. Most of us know what it takes or how to get that perfect food shot.
And we would proudly share it on our menu, posters, and POS materials. We have been sharing it on our site and probably marketing it via Facebook, twitter and many other social media platforms.
Now, there is one where only the images matters -Pinterest.
You have the required images, now share it, write some notes about it and get some traffic to your site, and then to your outlet as well.
One thing to note is folks that hang out in Pinterest is similar to any other social media platforms, they don't like to be sold to.
So, if your account is all about you, sooner or later it would put people off.
Start an account, have some fun, pinning images of things that matters to you, at the same time, pin images of your F&B food and beverages shot.
Grow your community, engage your followers and sooner or later, in the midst of doing this fun activity, you would get some traffic.
Currently, Pinterest is by invitation only. For folks, that want an invitation,
