using Twitter as their platform, Jell-O is inviting anyone to share what they want to do before the end of the world.
All they need to do to enter is to use @jello and using the hashtag #funpocalypse. Just by sharing that, you might get to win $100.
This is very suave marketing. From now till 21-12-12, one of the trending topic is bound to have something to do with end of the world, and Jell-O might just ride on the wave.
And their promotion video is equally good, with the team in Jell-O focusing on the "right sacrifice" to the Mayan Gods in order to appease them.
This is all very light-hearted and fun, totally in line with Jell-O brand positioning.
Personally, I think the participation rate will be high simply based on the fact that everywhere is discussing about this topic.
I also think that amidst all the doom and gloom that is going around, Jell-O is actually doing a corporate service by lifting people's mood up!
Why must the discussion be always about doom and gloom, the "end of the world" can be done in a fun way as well!
