Meet your coffee friend -Pseudomonas Putida CBB5

It turns that CBB5 as they are better known need their daily java similar to 70% of us. In fact, they thrive on it.

This is a new bacteria found by the UI research laboratory, it is found that these bacteria actually lived on Caffeine! (now, while a lot of us shout that we lived on coffee, these little folks actually can survive on coffee!).

There is a lot of science in it, in short, they break down the components and absorb the nitrogen atoms in it, which is required for them to survive.

Other than being a fun news, there are positive implications as well.

One of them is to allow scientist to convert leftover coffee, tea and even chocolate into fuels or even medicine.

My $0.02.

Now, there might not be any practical uses for the coffee dregs that many cafes are throwing away. The only use might be for some gardening folks to better their garden beds.

But, if there are easy way to process these waste and it can be make into useful products, the coffee business would again evolve.

Firstly, there would be a new income stream for coffee business. From the big chains to the small cafes, there would be able to either sell of their coffee dregs or acquire the process to make the dregs into something useful.

Secondly, there would be new jobs and even new industries. As in all other industries, you would need the middleman, the distributors, the sales people, the marketing team -a new business eco cycle.

And this is all thanks to a coffee loving, caffeine hungry bacteria.

So, who knows, this might be one of the more important news that you are reading that would change the coffee industry...
