I think this is a very cool program -mypressi origins. This is a program that when consumers pays extra 10 dollars for their mypressi espresso maker, the company would donate one equipment to the farmers who cannot afford it.
The logic is to allow farmers to taste their own coffee beans as espresso and not not steeped coffee (which is the only way farmers can taste their coffee now), this would highlight to them why their coffee are graded lower and how they should improves on their cultivation to achieve better tasting coffee beans.
Mypressi technology involves no electricity which is an important point as most farmers would have no access to electricity.
All you need to fired up a Mypressi is to insert a N20 (CO2) cartridge into the pressure chamber, fill the basket with coffee ground, fill upper chamber with hot water, then the pneumatic delivery system would generate 9 bars of pressure to extract the espresso.
If the grade of the green coffee beans for the farmers improves and they are able to earn a few more cents per kilograms, it would be a substantial increase to their annual income!
A great idea, so do chip in to assist the farmers the next time you want to purchase a mypressi...
