Meet someone you’d Melt for, in the heartlands

Meet & Melt, is a cafe tucked in the heartlands of Tampines, whose unpretentious toasts and ice cream won the hearts of many. We were curious as to how simple toasts, and ice cream captured the hearts of those in the heartlands.

We tried their Salted Egg Lava, with Charcoal Toast, and their new on the menu Flying Ramen Toast.

The Salted Egg Lava, with Charcoal Toast comes with a scoop of ice cream, and we had to try their Ferrero Rocher ice cream. The Charcoal toast was very fragrant, and when we cut into it, the Salted Egg Lava flows out easily. The taste of the Charcoal Toast was crispy on the outside, and chewy on the inside. It goes well with the scoop of ice cream, and Salted Egg Lava. The Salted Egg Lava had a good balance of custard, and salted egg; the balance was just right.

The Flying Ramen Toast was served with either a strawberry or peach “ramen” of your choice, that is made up of vegetarian ingredients, along with a thick, crunchy Shibuya Toast, it was served with a scoop of ice cream of your choice as well. We were recommended by the friendly service crew to get something fruity, as the ramen jelly was of a fruit-base taste. We picked a coconut ice cream. The toast, with it’s lighthearted taste, feels easy on the mouth. The chewiness of the ramen, and the crunchiness of the perfectly toasted Shibuya Toast, paired with a scoop of ice cream is the perfect combination for a warm sunny day.
