Artease is located just a 5-8 minutes stroll from Nex mall. You will need to walk past the old bus interchange (which has since been converted to a childcare and elder activity centre), a row of shops and a big coffeeshop to reach the end of block 261 of Serangoon Central where Artease is located. What greets you is a tasteful cafe with bold and outstanding Artease black signage at the front with a few strong yellow coloured seats and a table lamp at the counter to create high visual accents. It's a stark contrast to the rest of the shops in this neighbourhood. .

The lavish full length windows are an advantage to the small cafe space as they allow natural light in and brighten up the place considerably. Cafe visitors who enjoy space will not feel claustrophobic in this modest setting of sheer simplicity.

An inexpensive choice of grilled cheese sandwich ($2.80) comes with honey mustard sauce and your choice of bread. I tried it with whole meal bread and the toast was excellently done at the right level of crispiness and warmth. It was also not too cheesy with a good flavour.

My friends had carrot cake which the server warmed it up nicely and they commented that the cake was good. There’s also enough crunch in this carrot cake.

Check out this pretty Blueberry Crumble with Triple chocolate ice-cream that I ordered. The taste was just average for me but overall it was still a satisfying dessert.

Not forgetting Artease serves a wide range of drinks. My favourite drink is the Salted Caramel Milk Tea. I haven’t found another bubble milk tea shop that sells this concoction but Artease does such a good one that I don’t have to look further.

If you are looking for palatable sandwiches and premium tea concoctions, other than Toast Box or Yakun, this is a good cafe to consider as prices are very affordable in a simple heartland area away from the bustle of activities at Nex.
