Don't be fooled by the stark and bare minimal appearance of the simple tables and plastic chairs at this cafe, they serve dairy-free, vegan and yummy ice-cream made from organic brown rice. These are healthier and low-fat which means guilt-free indulgence. I will strongly recommend it to my vegetarian friends.
It serves a variety of ice cream cakes and their best-seller is the Cookies and Cream Ice- cream cake which is also known as a Cookies and Cream mud pie. They do takeaways for the whole cake as well so for vegan friends who are holding a party, this is a good option for you to consider. All their ice creams are made from organic brown rice milk, fruits and nuts. They serve vegetarian food (i.e. pastas, pizzas, gnocchi and biryani etc) as well.
I tried the strawberry and the cookies and cream mudpies.
The strawberry mudpie had a top layer of sweet and sourish strawberry ice-cream which can be quite overpowering for a small serving. There’s a centre layer of vanilla ice-cream and the cake finishes off subtly with a thin crust of digestive biscuits at the bottom. Edible rose petals adorn the top of the cake for a pretty presentation.
The cookies and cream mudpie had an exquisite taste. It comprised of the almond bits at the top, cookies and cream ice-cream in the centre and delicious dark chocolate cake at the bottom. Savour it slowly to enjoy. It’s a good option from the usual Swensen’s ice-cream cake that I usually buy for birthday parties.
There wasn’t much service and ambience but it’s still a good café to visit for vegan customers.
