Starting a coffee shop?: Free Cafe Setup cost Calculator
Bucktile St. Café was kind of hard to locate as it’s situated in a remote area at Faber Drive, amidst many private properties. It took me some time and effort to get there and the nearest MRT station is Clementi.
The woody exterior looks like one of those western countryside café you might see in some classic old movies, simply unique! As I stepped into the café, its lovely interior just brightened up my mood. They used warm white lightings and wooden furnishings which made you feel at home. There’s also a sofa placed at a quiet and cosy corner, which was the perfect spot for my lazy afternoon. The crowd was pretty good in Bucktile St. café on a late Tuesday afternoon, considering its location. They provide ample power points and free Wi-Fi as well for the diners.
They had quite a variety of cakes for me to choose from. I decided to order their well-known blue velvet cake ($6.90). While waiting for your order, you can either play a game or read a book that they have kindly provided on the shelf. Or probably you would like to write down your bucket list! They have a wall dedicated to bucket lists, which was really cool!
The blue velvet cake was pretty soft and fluffy! What's good about the cake was probably just the smooth texture, as I found the taste pretty average. I really love how the cake melts in my mouth though.
As noted, all their cakes are out-sourced, only their tiramisu in pot are made in-house. I wanted to try their tiramisu, but sadly I got to rush off elsewhere. I would probably find another day to come back again to try their tiramisu and chill out with my buddies!
