Starting a coffee shop?: Free Cafe Setup cost Calculator
Ciel Patisserie stands out amongst the row of shops below Blk 124 at suburban Lorong Ah Soo. The owner of this shop is very innovative. The shop’s façade is completely different from the rest of the HDB-estates cafes, and I love it very much. There is a window where people can peer at the bakers at work and a door leading in to the entrance of the café. The rest of the shop was decked completely white. It reminds me of the time when I visited cafes in London. Simple and yet pleasing to the eye.
Walking in, it’s a pretty small café with only a few tables and chairs, nothing spectacular on the design as their main focus is on their cakes. There is a medium-sized display shelf showcasing all their pretty cakes. Beverages are affordably priced.
We ordered the Bombe, a Quiche, Strawberry Shortcake and a ginger tart. Bombe is one of their most popular cakes and it has blueberry inside that makes it sour with chocolate mousse. I liked the strawberry shortcake and the rose-top looked very dainty! The simple combination of fluffy sponge, cream and strawberries worked perfectly for me. My companion ate the other two items and she said it was just ok for her. I do want to come back and try the other pretty items on display and its good value as you get quality cakes at decent prices.
On another note, I took away the Ispahan(with lychee inside) for my family but personally I didn’t really like it when they I nicked a bite.
