Tucked in a little corner on level 2 of Orchard Gateway, isolated from the other shops, Criollo Cocoa Café is slightly hard to find and one might not even know that it exists.

From the outside, Criollo Cocoa Café looks pretty typical, just like any other normal café but on the inside, it actually provides a very nice setting for some quiet/down time amidst busy Orchard Road.

Shopaholics do take note! Good place to rest your tired feet and have a drink or some desserts after all the heavy shopping! It will be great if they can add some couches or sofas near the glass full-length windows. The best tables for me are along the windows as I get to people-watch at the same time.

The café does not provide a wide variety of cakes though. At the time I was there, they only have three types of cakes so I didn’t have much of a choice. I ordered their Oreo cheesecake.

The Oreo cheesecake tasted pretty normal, much like what you will get outside at a bakery. The only noteworthy thing of their Oreo cheesecake was that the crust is quite crispy. I have a feeling their cakes are outsourced (forgot to ask), so I will try their cooked food on my next visit.
