Starting a coffee shop?: Free Cafe Setup cost Calculator
Envy Coffee is located at a little corner of Nexus @ One North. Those who have been to One-North will know that it is an area of mainly office buildings and there are not much retail shops there, hence it’s a pretty quiet place.
I was there on a Tuesday afternoon and the place was filled with office workers. As I stepped in, the first thought that came into my mind was that this place looked more like a fun and energizing office pantry instead of a café! I like the way they used chairs of different designs and colours, as well as varied hanging lights. The items were a total mismatch but somehow they fitted in nicely together. I also love the quote that was on their green wall which says “Have the courage to chase your dreams, don’t be the one to envy”.
One good point to note about Envy Coffee is they provide free Wi-Fi and power points. Free delivery services are also available to the nearby offices. They serve a decent variety of food like all day breakfast items, sandwiches, pastas, cakes, pastries and ice cream sandwiches as well.
I tried the Piccolo Latte ($4) and Matcha Mousse cake ($6.50). Their Piccolo latte was pretty average. It’s a simple cup of nice fresh roasted coffee with milk without much foam.
As for their Matcha Mousse, a matcha lover must definitely try it. It had a strong matcha taste and tasted slightly sweet and coupled with Azuki beans, it was a lovely combination. I would have preferred more Azuki beans in it though. As for the texture of the cake, it was really soft and moist which is what I always look for in a cake. Though I am not a big fan of matcha, I give this matcha cake a thumbs up.
