Starting a coffee shop?: Free Cafe Setup cost Calculator
You really wouldn't expect to find a cafe at the end of Ang Mo Kio Ave 5. After a long search on foot under the scorching sun and almost giving up, I finally found what I was looking for. I came to this secluded cafe named Hang Out! It’s not near both MRTs (Yio Chu Kang or AMK) and you have to take a feeder service in. But it’s rather easy to find if you drive as it’s near the end of AMK Ave 5 at the side that turns out to Yio Chu Kang Road, and the Thomson Green private estate. Hang Out Cafe, a 7-month old establishment, had apparently been discovered by many curious diners from the surrounding blocks and private estates who were looking for a fresh dining experience near their homes.
As you step in, things might seem ordinary but little details like the camera lens utensils’ containers on the tables and the cute colorful chalk drawings on the menu board caught my eye as I was waiting for my food. The spunky and sporty cafe owner, Juliet, is someone who pays fine attention to details, not just to her shop aesthetics but also the desserts and food she serves, always discovering new ideas.
I was recommended to try the Belgium dark chocolate tart and boy was it good! This unique tart was absolutely awesome and a must try! An egg shape of Bailey and coffee cream with a sprinkle of salt sat lavishly at the top of the chocolate tart. The bottom part with Belgium dark chocolate, feuilletine, ganache surrounded by chocolate crust on the outside was just fab. Two thumbs up for this dessert.
The Jasmine Rose Green Tea was light and refreshing. It tasted mainly of green tea with a delicate hint of rose.
