Hatter Street Bakery Cafe is nestled in the heartland of Hougang, it’s easily accessible and within walking distance from Kovan MRT. For those of you familiar with Nakhon Kitchen, It’s just a few shops away from it. Inspired by the story of the “Mad” Hatter, this café specializes in fusion of Eastern flavours and Western confectionary.

The quirky and outlandish items and designs left a memorable impression on me.

I stood around for some time admiring the interior and snapped pictures for keepsake.

The owner recommended the smoked sawdust pudding and pandan ice-cream waffle with Gula Melaka to us.

We had the Yin Yang cake, smoked sawdust pudding and Rabbit hole cake. The Yin Yang cake was actually sweet azuki with chunks of real red bean on a bed of semi-bitter matcha cream. It was light and delicious and went perfectly well with my hot coffee. Cake layers were moist and provided some much needed body to the cake.

Sad to say, I didn’t like the saw dust pudding at all as it smelled like incense. I will definitely not order it again.

Rabbit hole was my favourite for that day. It’s actually milk chocolate mousse layered with dark chocolate fudge. Ooo La La! This is highly recommended to chocolate lovers.
