Starting a coffee shop?: Free Cafe Setup cost Calculator
Located at Tanjong Katong road, renowned for all the good food places, ranging from coffee shops to cafés, the Laneway Market is a good place to stop over for tea or a meal. With a large plywood signboard on its door, it is almost impossible to miss this café.
This café adopts a garden-like feel, with white and brown wooden seats and tables topped with mini-potted plants. The interior is homely, cozy and spacious. It is definitely a comfortable place to chill and catch up with friends and loved ones.
We tried the signature drink: Laneway Cuppa ($6), a custom-made blend with a dash of homemade coconut and tea extract. It is a great drink for the health conscious as it tasted not too sweet and the hint of coconut blended nicely with the tea and milk. We also tried the Sea Salt Hot Chocolate ($6.50), which never failed to disappoint. A great drink for chocolate lovers, it came with a perfect hint of sea salt that wasn’t overpowering or too weak. The balance was just right.
We tried the Truffled Fries ($12). The fries were of similar size to McDonald’s fries, but of better quality and crispiness. The truffle taste was just right and it’s well seasoned with a light hint of pepper. There was plenty of white truffle shells which contributed to the rich flavor of the fries. We also tried the Spam Fries ($11), which was served with truffle mayonnaise dip. A creative combination that added much flavor to the luncheon meat fries. The presentation was fantastic.
A plus point for this café is that the staff are very friendly, approachable and hospitable.
