Little Part 1 cafe is a quaint, unpretentious and kind of secluded place to “chill” at. It has been around for the longest time ever (since 2008 if I am not wrong). I used to stay around this area but this was my first visit. (Read more about Cafes in the North Singapore)
Approaching it kind of made it feel like time had stand still around Jasmine Road, behind Thomson Plaza. As you step in, furnishings, books, cameras and items in the 60s and 70s are evident in the cafe. They don’t have a very big dining area but it gave a pretty relaxed atmosphere of 'whatever goes' here at this café.
The owner, Seren, seems to appreciate the freshness in all things antique and old. At one corner stands a tall shelf that accommodates some old books and items donated by cafe patrons. It’s also a great place to unwind from a heavy day because of its private location which comes alive at night where it’s frequented by people who just want to chill and booze the night away.
For the food, Scallopini Chicken Crepe ($18.90) consisted of chicken, herbs, onions, corn and mozzarella in white wine sauce. The chicken was excellently done though the overall taste was on the salty side. Overall, the ingredients are well calibrated into the wrap where the strong flavoured chicken taste blends in well with the cheese, onions and mushrooms. However, I found this crepe abit on the pricier side.
Walnut Cheesecake ($5.50) is not overly cheesy and rich which is very palatable to those looking for a moderate taste in cheesecake flavour. Do eat it with the walnut as the walnut taste does wonders in balancing the overall taste of the cake. I like my cheesecakes rich so it didn’t do it for me.
