This cafe is unlike most cafes which are situated at housing estates, shop houses or business district areas.  Right in the middle of East Coast Parkway, near BBQ pit C21 at a quiet corner, sits Pick Me Up Cafe.  One will need to park the car and walk to the end of the path to find it. 

This area has been through a glorious long-awaited revamp. It’s beautifully surrounded by luscious greenery and with a beach just a couple of minutes’ walk away, this café is a fantastic place to visit with your family over the weekends or even on weekdays.  It’s a pretty family-oriented café I have to say. There are kiddy items on the menu and kiddy cutleries as well to go with the food.

Pick Me Up’s environment is great with both indoor and alfresco seating. With the ocean view in sight and ability to hear the waves, what more can one asks for? On the menu are breakfast items, sandwiches and also the usual café items like breads, cakes and waffles. Love the fact that cold-pressed juices are also on the menu!  Perhaps slight changes in the menu every few months will help to keep the customers coming back for more. 

The Matcha cheesecake that I tried was light and not the usual dense baked cheesecake. The colour and presentation looked decent and the taste was good, not going over the top in sweetness. 

Overall, it’s a great place to hang out at East Coast Parkway if you happen to be there for some beach fun.
