Starting a coffee shop?: Free Cafe Setup cost Calculator
The Coffee Daily might look like a small café along Brighton Crescent (near Serangoon Gardens) but looks are deceiving. Once you step in, the café is actually pretty spacious. They provide a cosy and warm ambience for you to have a chit chat with your companion. However, there is only one sofa seat decked in nice floral prints so if you want a comfortable chair to laze, you got to be lucky!
I liked it that the owners had tried their best to retain as much of the originality as possible . The style of this café is very retro and they had obtained quite a few vintage items to display across the café. The touches that caught my eye includes the original flooring of the five foot way (reminiscence of the period when I was living in a shophouse with my gran) , the old styled window grills prominently displayed at the front of the shop and the red-blue-white retro chairs. Check out my pictures for more beautiful retro items!
They have a pretty wide variety of cakes but only one item is home made. The rest are from their suppliers. So we ordered the homemade rainbow cake (which comes with a hefty price of $10) and it came beautifully displayed on a white plate with chocolate sauce wordings and rainbow-coloured sprinkles. They have a wide variety of Gryphon Teas (which I love).
The rainbow cake was too dry for my liking. And I will prefer more cream cheese in between the layers of cake. The only good thing about this cake was that the sweetness was just right. Ask me if I will pay $10 again for this cake? Definitely not. The Gryphon Camomile Dreams Tea which I had along with this cake was perfect. The water temperature was good and nicely served in a pot.
It won’t be the last time I will be here. This place has its unique charm. By the way, they got a cute slogan “ Fresh Coffee, Old Charm”…just the way I will like my cuppa on a lovely afternoon.
