Located right next to Tiong Bahru Bakery, The Orange Thimble is one of the first few cafés to open in the Tiong Bahru district. It is also near the famous Tiong Bahru Food Market. At the entrance, you will be greeted by old traditional metal gates and wooden shutters, revealing also a modern and well-furnished café at the same time. There are several more niche spaces and comfy sofas for customers to enjoy when they venture further in.

A unique feature of this café is that they also sell special handcrafted chocolates and a range of ice cream as well. They serve an extensive range of foods and drinks, more than the typical café menu i.e. smoothies, tea lattes, cakes, pastries, mains, salads etc.

We ordered the Beef Shepherd Pie($9.90). Served piping hot, the Shepherd Pie was not too cheesy and not overcooked,  yet crispy on the top. The mashed potato was fluffy and fresh and the minced beef was tender and rich in flavor. We had a Chai-tea latte($5.50) to go with our Shepherd Pie and it carried a strong Chai tea flavor, ideal for tea lovers. It was also drizzled with caramel syrup, and served with crystal gem biscuits, making it a nice drink to be appreciated by both the young and old.
