French Press coffee makers are great alternative to single serve and 2-cup coffee makers. A good coffee press costs just a fraction of the price of a good single serve or 2 cup coffee maker.
Press coffee makers come in various forms. For one, its ability to brew coffee without the need for electricity allows it to be used anywhere.
For example, the Jetboil Coffee Press is a very portable press coffee maker designed to be used anywhere, whether at home or outdoors. Second, thermal coffee makers aren’t just found among electric coffee makers.
There are thermal French Press coffee makers as well. For example, the Bodum Columbia Thermal Coffee Press can keep coffee hot for 2 hours.

Questions about coffee? Have it answered by the professionals. Examples of some questions:

What are the essential V60 Coffee Brewing tools?
Non coffee (but important to coffee) question: What is whole milk?
Surprisingly, the Bodum Chambord Double Wall 8-Cup Coffee Press is another thermal coffee press. At first glance, it does not look like a thermal coffee press at all since it is glass walled, so no one would think that this Bodum coffee press can keep coffee hot for 2 hours.
Despite not having a stainless steel beaker, it can still retain heat very well, thanks to its heat resistant double wall construction.
The inner beaker is machine blown, while made of heat-resistant borosilicate glass. The outer beaker is mouth blown, and also made of heat-resistant glass. As a result, it is able to insulate heat very well and can keep coffee hot for 2 hours after it has been pressed.
Using the Bodum Chambord Double Wall 8-Cup Coffee Press does not differ from other French Press coffee makers. To prevent coffee grounds from seeping through the filter assembly, it is recommended to use coarse-ground coffee.
Furthermore, do not use boiling water. Therefore, once you have heated your water up to a boil, let it sit for a minute or two to cool down a bit before pouring it into the coffee press.
Finally, once the coffee grounds and hot water has been brewing for 4 minutes, press the plunger down slowly. Any excess in force can cause very hot liquid to shoot out of the pot.
All this aside, you’ll be surprised at how good coffee tastes when made with a French Press coffee maker.
Cleaning the Bodum Chambord Double Wall 8-Cup Coffee Press is easy as well. Disassembling the filter assembly just takes some unscrewing, and all the parts are dishwasher safe. Make sure to clean it after every use since coffee oils become rancid after a while.
Ultimately, the Bodum Chambord Double Wall 8-Cup Coffee Press is a well designed French Press coffee maker, which combines elegance with convenience. Furthermore, it can keep your coffee hot and aromatic for two hours.
If you’re looking for a good alternative to a single serve coffee maker or a 2 cup coffee maker, this French Press might be the one for you.
